REN
Whilst at Umbrella, I was tasked with managing the first pop-up store for REN Skincare. The brief came with a tight budget and an even tighter deadline, requiring a fast, focused, and highly collaborative approach.
I met with the client in a coffee shop opposite the space on St. Martin’s Lane on Monday morning. We walked through the brand’s objectives, the spatial constraints, and the desired customer experience. From there, I quickly sketched out initial concepts, focusing on modularity, simplicity, and alignment with REN’s ‘clean’ beauty ethos.
By Tuesday, we had sourced sustainable materials and developed a layout that maximised visibility while maintaining a calm, uncluttered aesthetic. The design featured lightweight, reusable fixtures, soft lighting, and clean, minimal graphics that echoed REN’s commitment to purity and transparency.
Working closely with a small team of fabricators and installers, we brought the concept to life in just three days. By Thursday evening, the space was fully built and styled—ready for launch on Friday morning.
The result was a serene, inviting retail environment that not only reflected the brand’s values but also delivered a memorable customer experience under intense time and budget constraints.
